Our Speakers for WordCamp Belfast

When we started working on WordCamp Belfast, we really were not sure how many speaker applications we would get.
As it turns out, we need not have worried.

While we may not have as many local speakers as we would have liked, we think you will agree that the range of talks and speakers we have in store for our first WordCamp is pretty good, to say the least!

#WCBelfast Launch Event

Since Northern Ireland has never been home to a WordCamp. We found that a large number of people we spoke to about our WordCamp, all asked the same question…

What happens at a WordCamp?

So, with this in mind we decided to hold a small launch event to help inform people about what they can expect at WordCamp Belfast in October 2016.

We secured the use of a room for free, courtesy of The Ortus Group, Belfast. Huge thanks to them!
We also sourced some sticky-buns, biscuits and also a cake from Smyths Country Bakery, these all went down a treat with everyone. Especially the #WCBelfast and ‘Wapuu of the North‘ printed biscuits.

Among the attendees at our launch event was Ruairí Mac Donnacha from Northern Visions T.V.. Ruairi kindly recorded a piece, which was broadcast on their local station shortly after the event.
You can view the footage on Vimeo.

Our WordCamp coverage starts at 20min 02Seconds
