{"id":529,"date":"2016-07-06T19:42:25","date_gmt":"2016-07-06T19:42:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/2016.belfast.wordcamp.org\/?p=529"},"modified":"2016-08-06T20:22:18","modified_gmt":"2016-08-06T20:22:18","slug":"wcbelfast-launch-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/belfast.wordcamp.org\/2016\/wcbelfast-launch-event\/","title":{"rendered":"#WCBelfast Launch Event"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since Northern Ireland has never been home to a WordCamp.\u00a0We found that a large number of people we spoke to about our WordCamp, all asked the same question&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>What happens at a WordCamp?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So, with this in mind we decided to hold a small launch event to help inform people about what they can expect at WordCamp Belfast in October 2016.<\/p>\n<p>We secured the use of a room for free, courtesy of <a href=\"http:\/\/ortus.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Ortus Group<\/a>, Belfast. Huge thanks to them!<br \/>\nWe also sourced some sticky-buns, biscuits and also\u00a0a cake from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/smyths.bakery\/\" target=\"_blank\">Smyths Country Bakery<\/a>, these all went down a treat with everyone. Especially the #<em>WCBelfast<\/em> and &#8216;<em>Wapuu of the North<\/em>&#8216; printed biscuits.<\/p>\n<p>Among the attendees at our launch event was <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Roving_Ruairi\" target=\"_blank\">Ruair\u00ed Mac Donnacha<\/a> from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nvtv.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Northern Visions T.V.<\/a>.
